Ok. Il est vraiment difficile que je trouve des mots pour commenter le fait que Barack Obama ait obtenu le prix Nobel de la paix. Plus de deux ou trois missions militaires visant à parvenir au plus près de la source des approvisionnements principaux d'huile n'ont pas été même términé. L'opinion générale au sujet d'elles n'est pas bonne! - seulement la minorité croit que les terroristes afghans pourrait casser la déstruction du plan américain de sécurité dans tant de niveaux. Budem sa snažiť vynechať cynickú intoleranciu medzi riadkami, ale niečo tam predsa len nechám. Medzinárodný obraz Spojených štátov amerických za posledné roky Bushovskej éry značne utrpel. Amerika započala poľovačku na neviditeľných nepriateľov. Teroristov samozrejme. Dve, tri masívne vojenské misie za demokraciu na Strednom východ! e, nevyústili do demokracie, ani stabilizácie regiónu, práve naopak. Vyostrením napätia a sociálnych rozdielov. Pre Ameriku sa však otvoril prístup k 70 percentám svetových zásob ropy. To, že štátom dochádzali zásoby energie pre svoj viac než plytvavý životný štýl, sa muselo, prirodzene niekde odraziť. Bohužiaľ, za cenu poloprávd, bohužiaľ za cenu sto tisícov mŕtvych. Bohužiaľ. Podľa mediálnych prieskumov, verejné mienenie o novodobých križiackých vojnách nie je dobré. Vieme, že Obama vojnu nespôsobil, ale ako jedna z najvplyvnejich osôb na svete, nevyvíja dostatočné úsilie na jej zast! avenie. O týždeň nato sa dozvedáme jeho „prekvapujúce“ víťazstvo, ocenenie Nobelovou cenou za mier. To, že cenu obdržal americký president nasvedčuje tomu, že niečo nie je v poriadku. Pretože Amerika je stále vo vojne a podľa všetkého vo vojne aj ostane. S plným vedomím jej prezidenta. Malo však ocenenie zlepšiť medzinárodný imidž Spojených štátov? But still we have American troops occupying Middle East and what’s more – there are some key points to control the country with access to the oil. Americans are still there – despite the promise of new President who made it clear it was one of his top priorities. He also mentioned America was increasing its debt just because of war. Logically he should have done everything to stop the war. But ten months of his presidency haven’t brought any visible progress, on the contrary last week there was the request for bringing another 100, 000 American soldiers to Afghanistan and Iraq. How come? Then we hear “surprising news” Mr. Obama was Nobel Prize laureate. Oh yes, he’s been using the soft power of diplomacy – but there’s been no serious results, neither in economy nor in military field. He’s received the Prize, the American president got the Nobel prize. From the long distance run, it could! improve the image of blood and money thirsty United States. B! ut not n ow. There’s the wave of criticism pointing the Nobel Prize was just political decision. Just the political stress to bring President Obama back to the peace efforts. Was it an attempt to give a child reward before he’s done his homework . But will it be a success? I don’t think so. Prezidentová vláda ohlásila, že stretnutie s Dalai Lámom sa uskutoční najskôr v decembri, teda mesiac po generálnom summite s čínskym prezidentom, Hu Jintaom. Podľa prezidentových hovorcov, tento krok nemienil uraziť najvyššieho predstaviteľa štátu, ktorý sa sám o sebe stal symbolom obete násilnej agresie. Dôvod prezidentovho činu však s najvyššou pravdepodobnosťou oznámený nebude. To, čo však ostáva v pozadí je napätá situácia medzi Čínou a Spojenými štátmi, Čínou a Tibetom a doteraz tolerantným postojom Spojených štátov voči Tibetu. Zd! á sa, že obrovský tlak prezidenta prinútil! stretnu tie preložiť. Tlak zo strany kľúčového obchodného partnera, vlastných voličov, svetovej mienky a napokon samotného Tibetu. Dalai Láma je pre Čínu evidentná persona non grata, Obamovo stretnutie s ním by logicky vyostrilo najbližšie stretnutie. Ako sa vraví, nedá sa v jednej chvíli sedieť na dvoch stoličkách zároveň. Nedá sa pohostinne prijať vládca zeme, ktorú Čína vyhlásila za svoju provinciu a nedá sa uzavrieť obchod s Čínou. Všetko smeruje k rozhodnutiu. K diplomacii na ostrí noža. Prezident Obama volí čínskeho prezidenta. Dalai Láma však pokračuje vo svojom programe. Podľa Obamovej hovorkyne, Kate Saundersovej, Dalai Láma na preložení stretnutia súhlasil vo viere, že sa prezidentovi podarí upevniť dobré v! zťahy s Čínou. Dalai Láma sa stretne s hovorkyňou Bieleho domu, Nancy Pelosi, niekoľkými politickými osobnosťami a Mariou Otero, koordinátorkou pre tibetské záležitosti. Avšak stále, Dalaj Láma navštívi Washinghton, prejde popod oknami prezidentovho sídla, stretne sa s jeho kolegami, prehovorí s jeho voličmi a krajanmi, čakajúc na správny čas spoločného rozhovoru. A to všetko bez väčších mediálnych otrasov a diplomatických či politických dôsledkov.

Being President Obama is a hard work. As it’s been said, there’s someone behind the king. I speak of greater power handling the first man’s will and opinions. President Obama has postponed the meeting with Dalai Lama without precedent. It will be for the first time in 18 years Dalai Lama won’t meet the current head of the U.S. during his official visit. Now, the talks come to the reasons. President Obama’s administration suggested the meeting will take place in December, after general summit with China. The point was not to insult the highest representative of a nation that has become a symbol of victim of violent aggression. The point probably! won’t be reported. Suggestions, ties behind the scene point to improvement of U.S - Chinese relations. China is apparently higher player in the game and meeting with Chinese persona non grata would shadow already tied relationship. Literally, President can’t embrace Dalai Lama and establish business with China as well. The decision has to be made. And it’s been. Instead of Dalai Lama, America chooses Chinese President Hu Jintao. According Obama’s speaker Kate Saunders, Dalai Lama agreed on later meeting with belief it was important to establish good cooperation among the countries. Instead of Obama, Dalai Lama meets House speaker, Nancy Pelosi and another few politician figures, including Maria Otero, the U.S. special coordinator for Tibetian issues during upcoming five days. Except of regular meetings he will get award for human rights in memory of the late Rep. Tom Lantos. Dalai Lama visits Washinghton, passes by the window of president, talk ! to his colleagues and his people and waits for the right time ! for comm on talk. With no bigger attention, with no greater consequences.
