Positive Climate for GOP keeps improving by Magdalena Rosova

It seems that political environment in the US is more favorable for Republicans rather than Democrats led by President Barack Obama. Associated Press-GfK poll showed that the number of Americans saying that the country is headed in the wrong direction surprisingly grew. Alarming is also the fact that more people disagree with the acts of President Obama. More people want Republicans to take control of Congress. At the moment it is Democrats who run both the House and Senate. Republicans are in a good position and are taking advantage of people's pessimism. The truth is that more people voted in Republicans primaries than in Democratic contests this year. The antiestablishme! nt tea party coalition gave Republicans the needed sprung and energy. Senator John Cornyn, who leads the effort to elect Senate Republicans, said in an interview that the party was in a stronger position than at any point that year. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell proved that there was a huge enthusiasm inside the party. Voters are angry because President Obama was not able to change the unemployment rate which remained the same throughout the whole year – near 10 percent. For Obama it is an extraordinary backdrop. He has only seven more weeks until Election Day and Democrats will try to do everything possible to not lose House and Senate. But they are evidently running out of options. The House's Speaker Nancy Pelosi expects Democrats to keep control but she does not seem to be as confident as in the times when her party had a political tail wind.
