British government after 100 days.
by Milota Sidorova

2010. The year of many European elections. Whether it is a consequence of a crisis, but in many countries, political opinions have been split. In many countries it was a victory for right wing parties – but in many countries it was more than one party to rule. That projected a lot of troubles and delays in political actions – that way three-party coalition was established in Czech Republic, that way four-party coalition was created in Slovakia. But almost contradictive coalition was generated late spring in Britain. Elections brought a victory for Conservatives led by Cameron, but not the power. To beat their rivals, Labour party represented by Gordon Brown, Cons! ervatives united with Liberals led by Nick Clegg. That was the first time two opposite sides entered the government side by side.So far, they haven't show many, since real governancy will start in September, after the Parliament gets back on track. But so far, they haven't produced significant up or down – according recent ICM polls more than 43 percent of respondents were satisfied with them, while 36 percent weren't.However, this preparatory time has already taken 100 days – the first time evaluation period.Although without significant scandals, there were major discussions in the government. It seems Britons are not pleased with their finance minister George Osborne who prepared the most crucial cutting package in near past. Osborne suggested public spending should be trimmed between 25 up to 40 percent to tackle huge budget deficit. That decision creates different reactions in Britain – some media call it necessary action, while some are blaming him fo! r destruction of expensive wellfare system and education ̵! 1; basic social and civil needs under an excuse of inappropriate deficit killing. His ambitons exceed Margaret Thatcher's policies back in 1980's. So if it seems coalition gets along quite well, finances may turn out to be their breaking point.
