Sarah Palin rallies thousands in Harry Reid's hometown by Magdalena Rosova

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin blasted top Democrats at a massive Tea Party rally on Nevada on Saturday when she urged voters to remove their local Senator, Democrat Harry Reid and to not support him in mid-term elections. The “Showdown in Searchlight” was the first event out of three-week US tour of political demonstrations in 44 cities of United States. Among many others speakers Sarah Pali drew attention the most. Pali was Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008 and now is one of the most popular conservative politicians in U.S. Crowds came to listen to anti-Democratic speakers. Organizers of the event estimates that 10,000 people from every ! US state joined the event. In spite of anger with the government, people were happy and rally participants spoke with joyous tone. Gary Tangiers of Los Angeles said he was angry but happy to be with his people. Nevada's senator Harry Reid did not come for the event but stated that the election would be decided by Nevadans and not people from other states who come just for one day to have a tea party. Even though many people do not agree with Reid's politics, he is still very popular in Searchlight. Reid's father and grandfather worked in mines in the are of Searchlight and in age 29 he became the youngest governor in the state. Therefore people of Searchlight are very protective of him. The Tea Party movement took it names from a demonstration in 1773 when colonist threw packages of tea into the Boston Harbor as a protest against taxes imposed by the British government.
