President Barrack Obama was very popular, mainly during presidential election and also after the election. But now the situation has changed. Many people are not satisfied with his work, they just think he is not doing enough for their country. And this is the reason why his popularity is decreasing. But the truth is that President Obama was elected in the worst time. The financial crisis has been spreading and the people awaited that Obama would stop the crisis. He made some important steps but it was not possible to stop the crisis immediately. And even now there are still problems in the economy which have to be solved. Of course it is easier to say that Obama is not doi! ng his work well. And that is why many people would prefer the Republicans. Nowadays the Republicans could celebrate that voters in Virginia and New Jersey would prefer them. These states decided in presidential election last year. President Obama personally campaigned for two Democrats – Deeds and Corzine because he wanted that independents and base voters would vote for Democrats. But the voters rejected it. Generally people are not willing to vote for Democrats but this situation is more optimistic for Republicans. The most important voters are independents because they decided about the President Obama. But after year of recession they do not believe the Democrats anymore. And also young workers who voted for Obama changed their opinion. For President Obama these are definitely not good news. But the voters’ opinion is influenced mostly by the current economic situation and so their preferences could quickly change. Obama needs to show the people that his p! lans could be successful and recovery from recession could cha! nge the voters opinion.
