Fall is coming
by Claudia Sonea
According to a Romanian saying, you count the buds during the fall season which means that in fall you pick the fruits of your work. Industry giants like Apple, Intel, Nokia, Google and others are ramping up their earnings as well as the products to which they threaded up to now. Even politicians sum up what they did in comparison with what they promised. U.S. President, Barack Obama is again in the spot lights with people expecting to either fail, either turn around things to his advantage. All the big hopes people trusted in Obama at the time he was elected are now fading away. He is no longer being viewed as a fi! rm hand and the saviour from the economic crisis. First on the agenda is the Middle East peace that he promised to solve or at least to proceed to the necessary measures to put an end to the conflicts (nuclear dispute, Russia and China collaboration, etc). The matter mentioned previously and the climate change reform (China’s tires issue) will be approached on Tuesday at a UN meeting and it is crucial for Obama to prove that he is still worthy of all the praise. The financial crisis is on top of the US president’s agenda as he will have to lay down his vision on Thursday and Friday at a G20 meeting where he will have to approach issues like bonuses caps for bank executives and possible ways to get through the economic depression for which US is seen as the main responsible. Obama has to buckle up and start showing off why he is the President. Good luck!
