No one should be underrated
by Barbora Misakova
People like complicated things. Or at least it seems to me like that from time to time. The brilliant example is American presidential election. To be honest, it is – in comparison with our presidential election, a bit complicated. Too many candidates, too long “election” period, too many weeks and months talking, reading and listening just about presidential candidates etc. If you are not monitoring the whole situation and you don't know at least some important names, you can have real problems to understand to the whole matter. And it is also possible that you can lost in it. Just like me. Sometimes I really have the feeling I have no idea who is who, and what he wants. Sometimes I feel like lost in it. Lost in the names, faces, party affiliation and so on. From time to time I have to laugh because sometimes is really much easier to know how many lovers Angelina Jolie have had in her life or how many children she already adopted.
But get back to the policy. Some fresh news are filled with name of some Bob Barr. If I should be honest – I have no idea who it is. So I checked him. The whole name is Robert Laurence “Bob” Barr, Jr. This guy with quite a long name is a member f Libertarian Party and he is also its nominee for President of the U.S. Barr is known for his opposition to softening drug laws, but also for supporting gun rights. But the best known cause connected with his name is Clinton impeachment trial. Barr was the first lawmaker asking for Clinton's resignation, and even after his resignation, Barr continued to pursue him. Opinions on Barr's effect on the results of presidential campaign are different. Republicans think Barr wouldn't top 4 percent of the vote. On the other hand Democrats think that Republicans should be worried about him. Although I have only few information about this guy, I think he shouldn't be underrated. Every single voice can considerably change the final result.
