Preliminary results of primary polls in Montana and South Dacota
by Ivana Macakova
After Tuesday`s exit primary polls in Montana and South Dacota conducted by Associated Press, forces between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are still well- balanced. Now there is a question whether the long democratic primaries will energized or divide the party. Outlooks are divided to an half. half of the voters thinks that it will energized the party, next half think that it will have the negative effect. About 60% of Clinton`s backers said they would be dissatisfied if Obama won the nomination of Republicans. They said they would stayed at home, abandon the ticket or vote for John McCain rather than vote for Obama in November. On the other hand backers of Obama are also against Hillary Clinton as the Obama`s vice president. The results from this Tuesdays were comparable with the results from the Super Tuesday primaries on 5th February. In South Dacota, Clinton with 55% is backed mainly by women, older voters, working-class whites and Catholics. Obama who got 45% spots is backed with whites who have not completed college. In Montana Obama has more supporters. It is evidenced in spots which he got. Obama won in Montana with 56%. He is supported by such people who support Clinton in South Dacota. As in several recent primaries, Hillary Clinton did better in both states with late decided voters than with those who were decided a month or more ago. Also in both states the majority of Clinton supporters thought she would be the best and stronger candidate against John McCain. In both states voters give a list of three issues which are the most important according them. On the top of the list is the economy, on the 2nd place is outpacing Iraq and than health care.
