Obama's Iraq visit
by Lucia Hrusovska
A big fight taking place on the American continent has not taken a break even for a minute. The three main candidates, senator from Illinois Barack Obama, senator from New York Hillary Rodham Clinton and a former senator from Arizona John McCain are trying their best and using all the weapons available to attach sympathies of voters to their sides. After primary elections, which has been recently finished, it is possible to say, that the battle between two democrats, Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, was slightly won by Obama. That is probably reason why Obama became a target of a quite big amount of criticism from his republican rival John McCain. This McCain's criticism was mainly connected with a visit in Iraq, which Obama seems to be avoiding according to McCain's personal opinion. Obama's last and actually the only one visit in Iraq was in 2006, when he traveled there as a member of a congressional delegation. To defend himself, Obama said, that he had been considering about visit in Iraq for a quite long time, and if everything goes well, he would like to visit Iraq again this summer. Bill Burton, Obama spokesman, said, that no final plans had been maid so far, but the trip was under consideration. Obama has been also offered a join trip to Iraq together with his rival McCain, but he declined it immediately and said, that he really did not want to be a part of some kind of a political plays, a work of soldiers and commanders was very important and that he took it seriously.
