Even politics can be interesting
by Zuzana Fabcinova
I am not very eager on watching politics in my home country and few months ago I could not imagine myself being even a fracture interested in watching politics somewhere abroad, but since presidential elections in the USA started, I have changed my mind a little. It is not that I can not wait getting to know the results of primaries of each and every state or that I check the news about the elections every half an hour on the Internet, but I must admit being slightly interested in fact who will finally win. Alas, who's not. I don't know much about the American system of the elections, but the campaign and all the fuss about it is just so different. Those people who are supposed to be strong supporters of the candidates, who stand by them and wave the posters and shout and look like (or maybe they pretend) their poor life depends on the result of the primaries in Ohio or whatever other state. That is just so incredible! Or: “Virgin Island's superdelegate Kevin Rodriguez, who had initially supported Clinton and then switched to Obama, has recently returned to Clinton's camp.” What a poor indecisive guy! I feel for him (as I am quite indecisive as well). I think people are just calmer in Slovakia, do not show their emotions and whole campaign is more serious and definitely not that exciting. Maybe it is because of the fact that the president is the most important person in the USA or just because this year's candidates are just different. It would definitely be interesting if a woman became a president of one of the most important countries in the world or if Barack Obama became the first black president. For me, the result will be surprising, no matter who wins.
