Chris Cantell Discusses Politics: Close combat
by Claudia Sonea
These presidential elections are going to be spicy. The score is already tight between democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Now they fight for support among Texas primary voters, while Clinton leads Obama in Ohio, according to American Research Group Inc. poll conducted Feb. 29-March 1. If the poll taken on February 27 -28 had Obama leading 51-44, this one shows they are tied with 47 percent support each among Texas voters. If you are interested to know how things stand, I can tell you that in Ohio, Clinton is ahead 51-44 percent among the state's likely Democratic primary voters, but mostly the two polls show both in Texas and Ohio four percent of the voters remain undecided. Still despite her win in Ohio, she faced 11 straight losses to Obama. Things can change at any time, especially after the democratic primaries in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont, scheduled for March 4. According to the poll Clinton leads Obama 52 percent to 40 percent in Rhode Island, while in Vermont she has only 34 percent to Obama's 60 percent. Generally, they are separated by a couple of votes: 47 percent of Texas Democrats backed Obama, 43 percent backed Clinton; in Ohio, Clinton received 47 percent and Obama's 46 percent. The last poll included 746 likely primary voters in Ohio and 736 likely voters in Texas. Both surveys have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points. Whoever will win the Democratic elections, will still have to face the Republican representative, thus the things are just about to get hotter and hotter on the US political stage. Stay connected, more to come.
