Dirty political games of China or how to take advantage of Africa`s poverty by Silvia Zuberova

Kenya and China have signed six agreements signaling closer economic and technical cooperation between the two countries during a meeting held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing today between President Kibaki and his host President Hu Jintao.{http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?tab=av&q=Kenya%20and%20China&recipe=all&scope=all&edition=} Even though this sentence seems to be a simple news, there are hundreds of "secret" meanings behind it.Let`s make an effort to conceal it together. China and Kenya, two distant countries which try to support each other,that was my first impression reading the sentence above.If somebody is not informed enough about the political situation in the world,he or she will just read the next article in the paper. It may happen our reader realises some really sad facts -post electoral violence ,human rights violations,ethnical and tribal conflicts- -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8ZCFn8V1_U/, but the main thing stays unveiled.Why is China so interested in the current affairs of a poor agricultural country?Why does it criticises the democracy that has nothing to do with the tribal conflicts and cruelty all around Kenya? The answer is too obvious to believe.The world`s biggest state{more than 1 billion people live there} needs natural resources-oil,oil and oil- in which Kenya is rich enough.Certainly, the main reason should be hidden,that`s why we can read declarations like that above.The only goal of China is to influence the political situation in Kenya in order to exploit it`s natural "treasures".No matter what kind of tools it uses.As a matter of fact,Beijing devotes some money to the infrastucture,school system in Kenya to draw the attention to it`s "humanitarian mission " in Africa, meanwhile it exploits and ruins the economy and makes a huge benefit from the naivity of the leaders of Kenya. I wouldn`t be surprised ,if one day appeared a news saying that China provoked the fights after the elections in Kenya.What is more,it ensured weapons for the militant groups .I hope,that I am not right... The most influential enemy of China in this field is the western world represented mainly by the USA and the EU, who donate the African countries to alleviate the suffer of the inhabitants. On the one hand it` s a human plan,on the other hand it `s the duty of these countries to help after the long years of colonialism-opression is a better word- which meant a terrible era for the African continent. On the whole,China`s interest is to maintain and develop its connections with Africa{especially with Kenya},so it will critise the democracy in Africa and the West again and again.Nevertheless it is our obligation to resist against this pressure. To be honest, I don` t believe that the donations of the West or the "support" of China are sufficient.The African continent should be also an important player when deciding on its own future.Although there`s an immense need for financial help, we should teach Africa how to utilize from it`s natural and menthal resources,capabilities.In my opinion this is the only way to give a real chance for the "craddle of the mankind" to recover from his devastating problems.
